Miguel Cotto vs. Austin Trout Fight Prediction
HBO Boxing 3.17 - The Co-Main Event was Uneventful…..Both Fighters happened to have the same moniker “the bomb”. It was Edwin “La Bomba” Rodriguez vs. Donovan “Da Bomb” George in a 10 Round Bout…….Rodriguez dominated the majority of the fight……Donovan in a last stitch effort came out in the 10th round gunning because he knew he was behind on the scorecards but it was a little bit too late in the fight and it was to no avail. Edwin Rodriguez came away with the Unanimous Decision victory to improve his record to 21-0 and remain undefeated…..In the Main Event it was Sergio “Maravilla” Martinez vs. Matthew Macklin……..This was a very close fight until the later rounds……Martinez was knocked down by Macklin although it seemed like he was more off balance and the fighters legs seemed to have gotten tangled although a punch did land so it was called a knockdown…..In the 9th round Martinez had his best round of the fight and took over from there in the 10th and 11th rounds…In the beginning of the fight it seemed Martinez was a bit confused but he adapted to Macklin brilliantly by the 9th round and took over the fight….The fight ended in the 11th round after Martinez knocked Macklin down twice……Macklin was able to get up but his trainer Buddy McGirt did not want him to continue so the fight was stopped……Martinez won by a TKO in the 11th Round…..
ESPN Friday Night Fights - Uneventful Co-Main Event between the Undefeated Abraham Lopez vs. Gabriel Tolmajyan in an Eight Round Bout…..I was not Impressed by either Fighter……Lopez won by a Unanimous Decision to Improve his Record to 17-0 even though I thought Tolmajyan won……In the Main Event Kendall Holt vs. Tim Coleman…..Holt completely Outclassed Coleman knocking him down in the First Round with a Left Hook to the Body and Dropping him 3 Times in the Second Round before the fight was Eventually Stopped when Colemans corner waved the towel…….Coleman’s body language suggested that he did not even want to be in this fight…….This win maybe will give Kendall Holt another shot at a Title………In the Third Bout of the Evening between Roman Morales and Rufino Serrano in a Junior Featherweight matchup Morales dominated the fight dropping Serrano in the Fifth Round with a Right to the Body and coming away with a Unanimous Decision Victory to Improve his Record to 10-0 and remain undefeated………
